Hornsea Seawall Art Competition
Attention all aspiring artists! Whether you are 8 or 80 here's your chance to be part of a unique project. "Let's Go Hornsea Regeneration Group" is looking for iconic artwork to display on Hornsea's southern seawall.
Let's Go Hornsea Regeneration Group is a registered charity which seeks to promote and improve the town for the benefit of residents and visitors.
The winning entries will be bonded onto panels affixed to the landward side of the wall. These panels can be shaped or cut out to accommodate any design. Some ideas can be found on the Let's Go Hornsea Regeneration website, or their Facebook page.
The closing date for the competition is Friday 16th May 2014 at 5pm.
It is envisaged that there will be a number of themes, with the sea wall divided approximately into sections as follows;
Section 1: North end by the Trans Pennine Trail obelisk. Entries could relate to the Pennine Trail, transport, exercise of sport (cycling, running, dog walking, swimming, horse riding etc)
Section 2: Mid-section - can be anything. The group is open to ideas.
Section 3: South-end, by the boat compound. Entries must have a fishing heritage theme.
Section 4: Designs suitable to link together the various sections.
Entries can be handed in directly in to the Customer Service desk at Tesco, Hornsea, Hornsea Library.
Postal entries can be sent to the following address;
Online entries may be no larger than 5MB and can be submitted to; info@letsgohornsea.org
Please note that the completion of this art project is subject to funding.
