Shah & ten Doeschate sign new contracts at Essex
Essex's Ryan ten Doeschate and Owais Shah have both signed new contracts, with the Club. The two players will be heading to the Indian Premier League in early April to play for their respective teams before returning to Essex to play domestic cricket for the County.
Ryan ten Doeschate has penned a new two-year extension to his current contract which will keep him at Essex until the end of the 2014 season. It has been a busy winter for ten Doeschate, playing for Otago and Chittagong Kings before playing for the Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL. Ryan, 32, will be playing his tenth season for Essex this year and Head Coach Paul Grayson hopes he will have a big impact on the Club's targets this season.
Paul Grayson said, "I'm delighted he committed to the Club and has been a brilliant player over the 7-8 years he has been here and I'm looking forward to him contributing to the team in the next few years."
Ryan ten Doeschate said, "I'm really happy to have signed a new contract at the Club. I've always wanted to play cricket at the County and I'm hungry to do well at Essex, starting this season. I have been quiet recently and I now feel I am in a position to do well for the Club and looking forward to helping the Club to success this season."
Owais Shah has signed a one-year contract which begins at the end of his 2013 Indian Premier League tournament with Rajasthan Royals, until the end of the forthcoming season. The 2013 season will be Owais' third year at the Club since joining from Middlesex in 2010.
Paul Grayson said, "I am very pleased that Owais has signed for a year as he's a high quality player who will give us great experience when he returns from the IPL tournament."
