Waltham Abbey Town Council recently announced the great news that they had been successful in securing a Playbuilders Scheme funding bid for the new skate park at Town Mead Leisure Park, Brooker Road in Waltham Abbey with a grant of £48,000 being awarded. This sum, combined with other grants gives the Waltham Abbey Town Council some £85,000 with which to install a state of the art new skate park/BMX track next to the children's play area.

It's all happening at Town Mead
As it was only a couple of months ago that we heard the exciting news that Waltham Abbey will have a brand new astro-turf football pitch to replace the current one, as Epping Forest District Council's cabinet agreed that £527,000 should be spent on creating a full-size all-weather pitch at Town Mead.
More recently the Essex Arrows baseball team were successful in obtaining funding for new dug outs and seating (located in the far left hand corner of Town Mead Leisure Park). The new facilities were unveiled as they played their first game of the season in the National Baseball League on Sunday 18th April. Please check out the AMA Calendar or our article on "Essex Arrows First Game of the Season" for details of our two local teams Essex Arrows and Essex Archers home game schedule. Great local FREE Sunday afternoon out with games starting at 12pm !
