The Knights of Arkley will be taking part in a spectacular medieval jousting tournament at Royal Gunpowder Mills in Waltham Abbey EN9 1JY on Saturday 21st &Sunday 22nd August 2010.
Medieval style tents, tilt, quintains and displays of weapons will take visitors back in time and transform the attraction into a tiltyard from the Middle Ages.
In addition to knights on horseback, the event will also include demonstrations of the medieval longbow and other forms of Middle Ages martial arts by The Company of 1415.
One of the most extraordinary parts of their show is when a team of archers fire a hail of blunted arrows at a group of advancing men-at-arms.
There will also be the opportunity to try out your own archery skills under the expert supervision of the Royal Golden Eagle Medieval Archers of England and watch a variety of birds of prey in flight as part of Ye Olde Redtail Falconry Display.
As part of the display there will also be the chance for members of the public to fly Harris hawks and barn owls.
