Big Brother's Kat to star in Cinderella Christmas Panto

Kat from Big Brother in Cinderella at Royal Gunpowder MillsBig Brother contestant Kathreya Kasisopa is to star in the Christmas pantomime at the Royal Gunpowder Mills, Beaulieu Drive, Waltham Abbey, EN9 1JY on Saturday 11th December and Sunday 12th December 2010 from 10.00am to 5.00pm.

Kat, who appeared in Big Brother 9, will be making a guest appearance in the ‘mini-pantomime' of Cinderella which is part of a weekend of Victorian Christmas-themed activities at the popular visitor attraction.

Born in Thailand, Kat now lives in Kent. She will be joining the 'Slap and Tickle Players' for the hour-long shows which will involve comedy, songs and plenty of audience participation.

There will be two performances on both days at 1pm and 3pm and advance booking is required.

In addition to the pantomime, the ever popular ‘Victorian Christmas' event returns and also features the chance to meet Father Christmas and the opportunity to have your photograph taken dressed in Victorian costume as a reminder of the occasion (5x7 print costs £2.50).

There will be children's activities, exhibitions, displays, and a nature walk for you to explore:

  • Participate in Children's arts and craft activities
  • Play Victorian games
  • Learn about Victorian foods and gifts
  • Have a Victorian Costume photo taken
  • Sing Christmas Carols with Tricia Dibb
  • Visit Father Christmas and receive a gift
  • Watch a Pantomime performance of "Cinderella"
  • Meet Queen Victoria herself and Sir Frederick Ponsonby

The renowned historical re-enactment group ‘Grymm Tooms Travelling Museum' will also be on hand with their ‘Grymm's World of Wonders', ‘Tooms Medical Marvels' and the ‘Grymm-Tooms Picture Company' - highlighting the incredible discoveries and inventions of Victorian Britain.

There will be Victorian-theme magic tricks from magician Mick Scott, carol singing and younger visitors will be able to take part in children's art and craft activities and try out some traditional Victorian games.

"This is set to be our most ambitious Christmas event ever with pantomime performances, events, activities, carol singing and, of course, a very special appearance from Father Christmas himself," said Lynne Lennard at Royal Gunpowder Mills.

"Visitors will also be able to enjoy a festive nature walk around the site and we're hoping it will really help everyone to get in the Christmas mood," she added.

Combined tickets for the pantomime and meeting Father Christmas are £9.50 for adults and £14.50 for children (3-15) including a present. Entry to the site will be £5.00 with under threes Free.

Advanced booking is essential if you wish to see Cinderella and/or meet Father Christmas and receive a gift, please see their website for breakdown of prices.
