Triple treat for Mozart lovers at Colston Hall concert

Published: 6th October 2011 13:40
There is a real treat in store for Mozart lovers at the Colston Hall on Saturday 15 October at 7:30pm. Bristol Choral Society's season opens with a concert featuring Mozart's Requiem with soloists Charlotte Newstead (soprano), Rebecca Chellappah (mezzo soprano), Philip Sheffield (tenor) and Nicholas Perfect (bass), the overture to the Magic Flute (to be played by the Bristol Ensemble), and the Clarinet Concerto with internationally renowned soloist Emma Johnson, all under the baton of conductor Adrian Partington.
Emma shot to national fame when she won the BBC Young Musician of the Year in 1984 and has subsequently established an enviable international career. This concert will be a rare chance to hear her perform in Bristol the work with which she is perhaps most associated.

Tickets cost from £10 to £23 (£5 for under 25s) and are available from the Colston Hall: 0117 922 3686 or see www.bristolchoral.co.uk

This is the first of the choir's 2011-12 season concerts: the season continues with a come & Sing Messiah and Mini Messiah family concert on 26 November, Bach's Christmas Oratorio (featuring in-demand tenor Mark Padmore) on 17 December, plus Berlioz Te Deum & Faure Requiem in March 2012 all at the Colston Hall and ends with Handel's Israel in Egypt in Bristol Cathedral in June.
Tickets for all of the concerts are on sale now and a discounted season ticket is available. To find out more or to book tickets call the Colston Hall: 0117 922 3686 or see www.bristolchoral.co.uk
