Author: elliestokes Published: 13th August 2012 11:30

Four mentors from four very diverse career paths will share their knowledge during a Spinnaker Tower Careers Week this summer. From Monday 13 to Friday 17 August, interactive workshops, activities and Q&A sessions will be delivered by a , an astronomer from the University of Portsmouth (13th &14th), a costume designer for New Theatre Royal (15th), a conservator at Fort Nelson (16th) and a Blue Reef aquarist (17th), who will aim to inform and inspire young visitors to think about their future careers. Plus, the Spinnaker Tower is rewarding aspiring youngsters during the week with children dressed up as what they want to be when they grow up claiming free entry* to the 170 metre viewing tower.

Sarah Webb, general manager at the Spinnaker Tower, commented: "It will be fascinating to hear from people who work in such a variety of different work environments. The four mentors will offer a different perspective and show children the quirkier career options that they might not have thought about before!"

Careers Week forms part of the Spinnaker Tower's summer event ‘Aim High', with visitors challenged in a series of weekly special competitions, ranging from video game victories to tarantula holding triumphs. From Tuesday 24 July to Friday 31 August, visitors will showcase their skills and face their fears to compete for a selection of top prizes.

The Spinnaker Tower is open daily, 10am to 6pm (excluding Christmas day). See www.spinnakertower.co.uk or call 02392 857520 for more information.
