Talbot Village Trust gives villagers a boost to help renovate their community hut

Author: undefined Published: 28th November 2019 17:24

Talbot Village Trust has donated £3,670 towards the renovation of the Edmondsham village hut, in East Dorset, to help benefit the local community.

The village hut provides a free space in the heart of the community and helps to bring Edmondsham villagers together. The hut is used for a range of local events including charity events, arts and cultural displays and as a meeting space for a variety of community groups.

The funding provided by Talbot Village Trust, has enabled the hut to be transformed into a more welcoming, bright and clean space for the villagers to use. The donation paid for overall renovations of the space such as repairs to the walls, windows and flooring. The hall was also completely re-painted to give it a new and refreshed look.

Patricia Cope, Edmondsham village hut Committee Fundraiser, said: "Thanks to the generous donation by Talbot Village Trust, we have transformed our beloved village hall from a dark, worn and unwelcoming room, to a bright, light and cheerful venue. It is now somewhere that many groups can continue to use and enjoy for years to come."

Russell Lucas-Rowe, Trustee of Talbot Village Trust, Trustee at Talbot Village Trust, commented: "We understand how important Edmonsham village hut is to the community and its residents. It is a great meeting place for socialising and learning for people of all ages in the village, and we are pleased to have contributed to the renovation to ensure that it continues to be a place that brings the community together."

Talbot Village Trust meets biannually and is accepting applications for funding from both previous and new applicants in the area before the Trustees meet in spring 2020. Please go to www.talbotvillagetrust.org for more information.
