Folks in Harmony

Folks In Harmony is a new mixed acappella choir - that's men and women singing unaccompanied (eek - no instruments!)
We bring together singers who enjoy performing in a whole range of musical styles - mainly showtime favourites, popular and traditional songs, but nothing's ruled out. We perform together as a large choir in 4-part harmony, and mix it up a bit with other options too - duets, quartets, octets, or any combination of voices that takes our fancy.
We take our repertoire to local venues: care homes, hospitals, social groups and any other place where there's a spot of entertaining to do - not just at Christmas, but all year through. Our focus is to make a difference to people's daily lives, to give cheer to those who need it, even just for an hour or so.
AND ... we perform our music to the highest standard we can, and have lots of fun taking our harmonies out into the community.
Can I sing well enough for this?
Folks In Harmony is for singers with some previous experience who want to have fun, meet new friends, and sing in beautiful harmony. We're looking for men and women (especially men) to swell our numbers. You'll do a simple voice test - nothing too scary though!
The Big Questions ...
- Do you love to sing and want to perform well?
- Can you hold a tune while others sing something different?
- Are you enthusiastic, like us, about our choir's aims?
- Can you commit to weekly rehearsals?
- What are you doing next Thursday evening?
