Fireworks Display and Fair at Havant

Published: 5th November 2013 14:50

Havant Borough Council is holding its annual free firework display at Stockheath Common, Leigh Park on Tuesday 5th November 2013.

For more than 16 years the council has organised this fabulous display for the benefit of its residents, always on the traditional historic date, no matter which day that may fall.

The Mayor of Havant, Councillor Paul Buckley will light the giant bonfire at 7.30pm and the dazzling firework display will start at 7.45pm. Extra fun will be provided with some children's rides and side stalls from  5pm until 8.30pm.  Refreshments, including hot dogs and candy floss, will also be on sale.

Councillor David Collins who is responsible for Community Safety said; "This very popular annual event is organised to ensure a safe and controlled spectacular display for residents with around 5,000 people attending each year."

Stockheath Lane and Alsford Road will be closed to traffic from 4pm to enable the rides and stalls to set up on Stockheath Lane. Riders Lane will be closed from 5pm, parking will not be permitted. Visitors arriving by car should use the Havant Borough Council car parks at Greywell, which are approximately a five minute walk from Stockheath Common and will be free on that evening from 5pm.
