Charity Concert Hits The Rght Note For Mayor's Charity

Music-lovers will enjoy everything from TV theme tunes to military marches when the Meridian Winds Band plays at the Mayor of Havant's charity concert.
The popular band, which has a varied repertoire including waltzes, overtures, marches and film scores, has been invited to play by the Mayor and Mayoress of Havant Councillors Gerald and Elaine Shimbart.
The charity concert takes place on Sunday 23 September at 2.30pm in the Conference Centre at the Public Service Plaza, Civic Centre Road, Havant.
Money raised will be split between the Mayor's chosen charities The Portsmouth & East Hampshire Branch of the Samaritans, FLASH (Family Liaison Autism Support Havant),CancerWise and Smile Support & Care.
Meridian Winds Band was formed in 1987 by two instrumental teachers, Tim Norris and Tim Warren, and is made up of professional musicians, teachers and students. The ensemble aims to rehearse and perform wind band music of all styles to the highest possible standards.
