Volunteers wanted for Human Library events

The Human Library is designed to promote dialogue, reduce prejudices and encourage understanding.
The Human Library is just like a mobile library, except that the Books are people, and 'reading' is a conversation.
The Human Library is an international equalities movement which promotes positive social change in over 60 countries.
Human Books are volunteers who share personal experience to challenge prejudice, stigma and discrimination.
Thanks to set up funding from the Big Lottery, we have already trained 20 inspirational volunteers to take part in Human Library events in Hampshire during 2013. We're now looking for new volunteers to join us at a training day on Saturday 18 May in Portsmouth Central Library.
You may be interested in the idea of being a Human Book if you've had experience of some form of stigma or discrimination. Or you may just be intrigued to find out what it's all about, and be willing to help out at our events.
