Meet The Tudors - A Free Family Open Day At The Spring, Havant

On Saturday 29 March, from 10am -4pm Delve into the past! Explore and learn what life was like during the Tudor period with this fun and interactive family open day. The Spring invites children of all ages, parents and history lovers alike to join us and discover the everyday details of Tudor life.
The FREE open day will be bursting with fun activities, competitions and interactive historical learning, here are just some of the highlights...
Annie the Peddler will be strolling through the Centre with her basket of Tudor wares, telling stories from the past and showing visitors all the mysterious and intriguing items she carries in her basket.
Adults and children can dress up like a peasant or courtier and learn how fabric was made, who wore what and even why it was worn. Visitors can have their photo taken as a keepsake.
Whirl around the Main Gallery like King Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn as Jez the Tudor musician leads courtly dances. The inquisitive can look; touch and learn from replica musical instruments. And volunteers from The Mary Rose Museum will be on hand with an array of mystery replica items from the Mary Rose's past.
There will of course be arts and crafts for children, we invite young visitors to make a Tudor Rose badge, and Elizabethan ruff, a crown or a sword and don't forget to enter our ‘make a monarch' competition and be in for a chance to win tickets to a family theatre performance!
After all the historical excitement visitors can recharge their energy with a visit to Bianca the Pie sellers stall, why not try a tasty Tudor treat such as one of Henry VIII's favourite - a pork pie!
