The following activities are taking place in, and around the Drayton & Farlington area this May 2014:

Thursday 1st May

Farlington and District Gardening Club Meeting at 7.30pm at St Andrew's Church Hall (PO6 1AA) when Jane McBride will be telling you everything you want to know about Fuchsias. All welcome - members 50p non-members £1.

Saturday 3rd May

A Skittles evening (using the new skittles alley) with Ploughman's Supper will be held at the Drayton Centre (PO6 1PA) at 7.30 p.m.. Entrance fee £7.00. For further details Tel 02392 377630 or 02392 362926

Saturday 3rd May

A Concert by the Hampshire Police Choir at St Colman's Church. (PO6 2LD) Doors open at 7pm and the concert starts at 7.30pm. Tickets are £6.00 and can be purchased from the parish office. Please ring 02392 376151. All monies raised will go to charity. The programme is varied and has a range of music to cater for all tastes

Saturday 10th

Plant Sale and Coffee Morning at Drayton United Church (PO6 1PA) from 10.30am to 12noon. The sale is a community event with plants from the Drayton United Church, the Farlington and District Gardening Club and the Salisbury Road Allotment Association. Good quality bedding and perennial flowers, vegetables, herbs, shrubs and trees will be on sale at reasonable prices. Steve Rees will also be there for information and advice. Refreshments and children's' activities will also be available. Phone 92377644 for further information

Saturday 10th May

Concert by the Portsmouth Light Orchestra at 7.30 pm in the Church of the Resurrection.

(PO6 2AP). Tickets are £5.00 each and are available from Val Loft 023 9237 1135. Proceeds will go to charity.

Wednesday 15th May

Early bumblebee walk. Meet at the East Gate of Fort Widley on Portsdown Hill (PO6 1BJ) at 10am where Richard Jones, Portsdown Hill Countryside Officer (023 9238 9623) will be looking for the first bumblebees colonies. Please bring walking boots, waterproofs, something to eat and drink. Children and dogs are welcome. There is no charge for this event.

Saturday 17th May

The Madding Crowd presents ‘Sound Up The Tune, Neighbours' , a programme of music from the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries at the Church of the Resurrection (PO6 2AP) at 7.30pm.Tickets  cost £5 on the door or are available in advance from the Parish Office on 023 9242 1849

Tuesday 27th May

The Drayton Centre Annual General Meeting at 7.00 p.m. for 7.30 p.m.  Join us in the David Higgs Room (PO6 1PA) for a cup of tea and coffee before the meeting. Copies of the Annual Report and Accounts will be available
