Routes to Resilience - Survive and Thrive in a Frantic World
The free launch event for the Hampshire Festival of the Mind is on Friday 3 October at Portsmouth Cathedral. Doors open at 10am. During the day there's speakers, exhibitions, talks and workshops in relaxation, laughter, singing and creative activities, the Human LIbrary, and many stalls sharing information about community activities and local services.
Special events during the day include:
12noon - 1pm Workshop with Dr.Rachel Perkins OBE, Mind Champion for 2012. (Becket Hall opposite the Cathedral in St.Thomas St)
1.30pm - 3pm Singing workshop with Janet Ayers, Natural Voice Practitioner (Becket Hall opposite the Cathedral in St.Thomas St.
5.30pm - 7pm Question Time event with expert panel on the theme 'No Health without Mental Health' (John Pounds Unitarian Church Hall)
7.30pm Musical evening with Squally Shower, Andy Broad and The Polite Mechanicals (Portsmouth Cathedral)
There'll be opportunities to meet people, try out new things, and come away feeling motivated, inspired, supported and uplifted.
The Hampshire Festival of the Mind is a new initiative during October from the Good Mental Health Cooperative in collaboration with community groups and social enterprises in the Hampshire area, sponsored by the Cathedral Innovation Centre, Awards for All Big Lottery, and the University of Southampton.
