What's On In Drayton & Farlington This September

Throughout the month all the regular activities and events are advertised inside the Information Centre (PO6 1PA) or on the website http://draytonandfarlington.com/. Below are this month's special events:
Thursday 3rd
Gardening Club Meeting at 7.30pm at St Andrew's Church Hall, Farlington when Rosemary Hardy of Hardy Nurseries will talk about herbaceous plants. Hardy Nurseries this year won their 20th Gold medal at Chelsea Flower Show All welcome - Members 50p non-members £1.
Saturday 12th
A Gateaux Tea in the Drayton United Church Hall from 3.30 to 5.00pm with musical interludes by Christopher Hyson. Tickets £5.00 - available from the Information Centre
Saturday 12th
Horse Racing Evening with a Ploughman's Supper at 7.30pm at the Drayton Centre. Tickets are £7.00 (which includes the supper) and will be available at the door. Further information from Brian 02392 377630 or Bob 02392 362926
Sunday 13th
A Cream Tea in St Colman's Church Hall, Cosham and grounds from 1400 to 1600. There will be live music from the band ‘Vintage Sounds'. The cost is £3.50 per cream tea and strawberries.
Sunday 20th
An Invitation from the Friends of Portsdown Hill to become a volunteer and join them at their monthly meeting on Portsdown Hill to help with a variety of essential maintenance tasks, including fencing, scrub cutting, hedge laying and hedge planting, depending on the season. Volunteers meet at the East gate of Fort Widley at 10am. Tasks end at about 3.30pm, so bring lunch if you can stay all day. There are also opportunities to help out at other times. Thursday 24th
Flowers in Special Baskets. Demonstrations will be given by Blossoms of Portsmouth at the Drayton United Church Hall from 1.15pm. Refreshments follow when non members can hear about the Flower Arranging Group's wide variety of activities
