Derek Acorah's Psychic Roadshow comes to The Kings Theatre

Author: annahowelll Published: 2nd September 2015 17:32

Derek Acorah's Psychic Roadshow comes to The Kings Theatre for the very first stop on the 2015/2016 tour this month.

For years, Derek Acorah has captivated packed out audiences and his latest roadshow includes fellow psychic mediums, Greg Smith, Paul Cissell, Karen Willis and Jenny Docherty.

Derek has been an active medium for over four decades, following many generations of mediums in his family.

Derek said that hs first spiritual experience came to him at the age of just six years old when he encountered the spirit of his grandfather, who had passed away several years before Derek had been born, at his grandmother's house.  It was this moment that alerted his grandmother, who was a medium herself, that she had passed on the family gift to her grandson. She told Derek a few years later that he would make a great medium one day too.

After a lucrative professional football career, during which he played for his home town of Liverpool FC, Derek said that he decided, after a sports injury, to act upon the gift he has after his grandmother came to him in spirit form and advised him to do so.

Since then Derek has been using his gift to help people across the country who want to feel connected to lost loved ones and now, sharing some of this experience with some of his upcoming peers, his roadshow which will see him hosting the stage that will showcase not one, but five physic mediums throughout this three part show, to the Kings Theatre.

AboutMyArea caught up with Derek to find out a little bit more of what to expect when the show comes to Portsmouth for one night only later on this month.

First of all we wanted to know from Derek if this was will be the first time that he is coming to Portsmouth, to which Derek replied:

"No, I have worked in Portsmouth before.  I actually worked at the Kings Theatre about five or six years ago.  But I have also done a few intimate shows in and about Portsmouth with Paris Spirits.  I am really looking forward to coming back, personally my wife and I dearly love the city; we have always found the people to be profoundly lovely and sweet when I have come here to do my spiritual presentations so I always look forward to coming to Portsmouth."

So what can the people of Portsmouth expect from the roadshow?

"They are going to see a group of hard-working mediums coming up to the stage at different times and they are going to see the differences of mediumship from them because in mediumship there are differences in delivery and in the speed which messages can be passed over.

"So I am just thrilled for the people of Portsmouth to see, maybe for the first time, live on stage all these eminent mediums, or at least they will all be eventually as their years of experience builds up.

"These mediums are Paul Cissell, Greg Smith - who is a tremendous young medium, and Jenny Docherty; she has a lovely reputation as does Karen Willis, who joins them also.

"We basically we all respect each other and have to work together because there is going to be five in one evening, you and they will all be able to see the different levels and power each medium is actually working at, at that time.

"I am the oldest statesman, I have been around a long time, so I will be opening the show as I am the senior citizen so to speak and I will introduce the others one by one as they come on.  Then I shall come back on afterwards and engage with the audience, gauge a reaction from them before introducing the next one on to the stage.

"Of course we have only got so much time to work with, so we have to make sure that each of the mediums has their time to show the audience their level of work.

"You are going to get a mixed bag of spiritual goodies, because it's not just one medium, and the audience will see themselves on the night just what level we are all on, with the deliverance from a dear message from a loved one.

"Maybe they have never had a connection with a person since they have passed and that night they will come through, no one knows - You see these evenings are not scripted, there is nothing ever set in stone.

"We have got to really rely on the spirit people to come through and give us that caring message, and with that is the responsibility we have, as it always should be on the evening.

"It's going to be a thoroughly exciting night, I am thrilled and can't wait - and I am sure the others feel the same way."
