Anna's Weekly Soap Update for Week Ending 18 May

Author: annahowelll Published: 21st May 2012 12:07

For all of you that may have missed any of last weeks soaps, here is a chance to catch up before the week ahead is upon us.

Hollyoaks

Brendan (Emmett J Scanalan) is left very suspicious by Walker's (Neil Newbon) presence in the village and issues him with a ‘don not cross' warning, but reluctantly gives him somewhere to stay for a few days, but it seems that there is more to this than meets the eye! However, Walker's lies and real intentions are revealed to a furious Brendan (Emmett J Scanalan), who decides he wants in on the game.  A drug deal is set up, which Walker later tries to back out of but Brendan won't give up that quickly and sends Joel (Andrew Still) round to finalise the deal.  Unfortunately it would seem that Walker was being sincere with his reasons for backing away, as Joel learns the hard way after being stabbed.  Joel's life is hanging in the balance when Brendan finds him, furious and hell-bent on revenge, which he enlists the help of Walker to fulfil.  At the hospital Cheryl (Bronaugh Waugh) gets wind of what has gone down forcing Brendan to lie to cover it up, which can only be achieved if Walker leaves the village immediately!

Whilst Michaela (Hollie-Jay Bowes) gets an exciting offer from some old faces, Amy (Ashley Slanina-Davies) decides things are moving too fast with her and Ally (Daniel O'Connor) and breaks it off with him.  However, it isn't long before she finds comfort somewhere else when old flame Dodger, Danny Mac, turns up to comfort her armed with a bottle of wine.  The pair gets very drunk and end up kissing, but nothing else happens.  However the next morning, Ally decides to try and convince Amy not to give up on them, but with Dodger hidden in the bedroom, Amy drives the final nail in the coffin of their relationship trying to get rid of Ally as quickly as possible.

Sick of it all, Amy decides to go with Michaela (and Leanne (Jessica Forrest) as they prepare to see Daytona Lights, but Dennis (Joe Tracini) has come up with a plan to solve Amy's relationship problems, and arranges for a boys road trip to the same event with Ally in order to get him back together with Amy.  Unfortunately, blissfully unaware of what has occurred, he also invited Dodger, who should have known better that to go, but does anyway.  The kiss is discovered over the breakfast buffet, causing a huge scene and much group divide.  Dennis is furious with Dodger, and after delivering a few home truths something seems to have clicked in the notorious womaniser's heart as he makes a call to Texas telling her he wants them to talk about their future.

Still, there is someone who can cheer Amy up, Josh Ashworth (Sonny Flood), who Michaela's invited along to show Amy how her life isn't as bad as she imagines.  Except Josh has now sorted himself out, doing great at uni and is engaged to be married, making Amy feel even worse about her situation.  Despite the bitter resentment, the pair end up in a heart to heart in which Amy decides she has made a huge mistake about Ally and sets off to try and find him and convince him to give her one more chance.

Emmerdale

Alicia (Natalie Anderson) finally opens up to David (Matthew Wolfenden) about how she feels, but he doesn't get the point at all, making her bury her feelings even deeper after he makes it very clear he sees her as just a mate.

The new respect that Sean (Luke Roskell) and Ruby (Alicya Eyo) now have for each other is warming Ali's (Kelli Hollis) heart, but is it all it seems?  When finding themselves alone together, Sean moves in to kiss Ruby, which she pulls back from horrified, but the young lads pride is more than dented and he runs off.  Unable to handle the humiliation, he goes to live with his dad and tells him that it was Ruby who made a move on him.  Dan storms round to Ali's (Kelli Hollis) and tells her what Sean has said.  Ruby explains what really happened, but Sean won't admit he lied, forcing Dan to take full custody of both kids and threaten Ali with social services.

Zak (Steve Halliwell) is the subject of village gossip after his mini trip to the Moors, much to Lisa's (Jane Cox) concern, which is made much worse when the troubled Dingle is sectioned.  Lisa is beside herself, especially when he doesn't even seem to realise she is there when she finally gets to visit him.

Megan (Gaynor Faye) is starting to come round to the idea of seeing her son, much to Declan's (Jason Merrells) delight, however pushing her forward with plans he drives her up to Robbie's (Jamie Shenton) home where she chickens out of seeing him.  Back at home and she has a change of heart and drives up to the boys house alone and puts a letter through his door.  However, it doesn't have the exact desired effect when, turning up at Home Farm the very next day it is clear that Robbie is not pleased with the olive branch.  Megan declares she never wants to see him again, but Declan won't leave things alone and goes back to the boys the following day where a sort of bond is formed.

Charity (Emma Atkins) arrives back from her business trip early, and feels pushed out by Jai's (Chris Bisson) new found fondness of her son Noah.  She is left left shocked and dazed later in the week when Jai suggests they try for a baby of their own.

Rick makes it very clear to Tommy (Chris Fountain) that Terry's debt has not been forgotten, forcing the naive lad to start distributing drugs on the loan sharks behalf from the garage where he only just got his job back.

David (Jack P Shepherd) lashes out again when he finds himself the topic of public discussion, smashing plates and insulting customers at the Bistro after Nick (Ben Price) gives him a job.  Later that night, Nick is snappy with Eva (Catherine Tyldesley) causing tensions to rise so high at work that he walks out and goes to a strip club with David.  No sooner have they arrived Nick spots Kylie working as a lap dancer and after getting Davis out of the club and home to bed pretty quick, he goes back and after paying for a hotel room for his sister in law for the night, convinces her to go back to her husband.  They agree not to tell David of her whereabouts, or Nick's involvement, but when they are all at the Bistro later, Eva catches the private words between her boyfriend and Kylie, and after finding a hotel receipt in his wallet puts two and two together.

Norris (Malcolm Hebden) and Sally (Sally Dynevor) go head to head in the flower contest!

Audrey (Sue Nichols) laps up the benefits of Norris' (Malcolm Hebden) subliminal bribes.

Marcus (Charlie Condou) convinces Maria (Samia Ghadie) to get back on the horse when it comes to dating, but it ends in disaster when she realises she has been used as a decoy in her date's plight to stalk his ex!

Alice (Jazmine Franks) finally agrees to meet the rest of the Branning clan, but unfortunately Derek (Jamie Foreman) is unavoidably detained by the police  just before the party is due to start.  The party goes ahead without him, but Tanya (Jo Joyner) can't help herself pointing out what hypocrites the rest of the family are for painting a lovely picture of Derek, as well as telling Alice exactly what she thinks of him in the process.

Denise (Dianne Parish) sets up a reason for Kim (Tameka Empson) to spend time with Ray's (Chucky Venn) daughter, but when local authorities become a factor, the plan fails miserably!

Shirley (Linda Henry) starts trying to rebuild her life without Heather, whilst trying to help Dot (June Brown) do the same.
