More Local Artists At The Square Tower

 Ceramic dish by Di Wren Crafts in the Tower will be exhibiting at Old Portsmouth's Square Tower in Broad Street, next Sunday 15th May. There will be a wide variety of beautiful artwork for everyone to enjoy, with the group priding themselves on their originality and quality.  Everything is made locally by the artists themselves and the public can, if they wish, purchase truly original works of art at very reasonable prices.

Included in this exhibition will be two new members will be showing their work; Symon Leech whose witty graphics and other surreal creations have a wide appeal and Jim Steele who has beautiful hand - made pens in exotic woods and dazzling acrylic.

The two regular jewellers, Katherine Webber and Sharon Justice, will also be at Crafts in the Tower on Sunday, as well as ceramics which will be represented by Di Wren and Bernice Hughes, who have very different styles; and Sue Meredith will be back with her lovely prints of Portsmouth scenes.

There will be three painters.  Mel Brundrit's  bold acrylics contrast well with Freya Perry's more romantic and floral works whilst Judy Charlton will be showing some new works painted on to muslin.

Lesley George's elegant embroidered textiles will also be on display, as will Terry Turner's ingenious works in wood and Kelly Hickman's glowing works featuring gold leaf.   Also returning this month is Rachael Brown with some beautiful pieces in fused glass.

Kendal James will again be holding her popular workshops featuring hama beads and pixel art.  There is no need to book - just come along and enjoy the experience.

The exhibition is open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Entry is free and there will be tea, home- made cakes and savouries at the Tower's vintage café.
