Help Raise Funds For Jordan Webster

Author: annahowelll Published: 9th February 2018 10:49

A group of locals at the Manor House Public House, Cosham, are holding a fundraiser to help support one of their favourite members of bar staff following his recent serious accident whilst travelling in India.

Jordan Webster had been holidaying in Goa when  he was involved in an accident resulting in the barman sustaining serious and life-threatening injuries.

At first Jordan was taken to an Indian hospital and prepared for treatment, but after his travel insurance didn't pay out, his father travelled out there and moved him to a private hospital at a very hefty cost.

Meanwhile, family and friends back home tried desperately to raise the funds to fly Jordan home - the price of which kept increasing due to the airline, and the amount of seats Jordan's stretcher would require on a direct flight home.

Thanks to the efforts of these people, and very generous donations on a JustGiving page set up for the cause, Jordan is now home and being treated in QA.

However, with several broken bones - including a shattered hip, fractured eye socket and broken legs - the road to recovery is set to be a long and hard one for Jordan.

And to help with this long journey of rehabilitation his friends at the Manor House Public House are holding a fundraiser to help.

This is a family friendly event with a disco, face painting and festival glitter, buffet, bake sale, goodie bags for the children and a raffle, sponsored by local businesses and regulars at the pub.

This event is £5.00 entry per person with all proceeds from the night being donated to Jordan's fund.

As many of the regulars at the Manor used to call Jordan Captain Jack, it has been suggested that to add to the fun of the evening, it will be optional Pirate fancy dress, with a prize for best adult and child costume.

One of the fundraising organisers, Rachel Grech, told AboutMyArea Portsmouth:

"As a regular customer at the Manor House with my family and friends, I was so saddened to hear of Jordan's accident and need for funds for his flight home and treatment."

"He was always such a happy member of staff, ready to serve us with a cheeky smile and a happy outlook on life. Nothing was too much trouble for him and he was so good when we would often visit en mass after school events with lots of children in tow!

"Myself and other friends of Jordan from The Manor House want to do everything we can to support his family in their fundraising and hope that by way of promoting the Facebook page, lots of people will attend our event and get him home soon."
