With second-quarter GDP confirming that the economy is continuing to turn a corner, a finance director briefing is being hosted by local accountancy and investment management group Smith & Williamson to consider what the future holds.
Senior finance staff from companies in and around Portsmouth have an opportunity to find out the latest developments in their field.
Christopher Bates, an investment manager at Smith & Williamson, looks at long-term economic prospects while other presenters examine future changes in accountancy and tax.
The complimentary event takes place at the Portsmouth Marriott Hotel, Southampton Road, Portsmouth, from 8am to 10am on Thursday, November 7.
Other speakers from the South Coast office of Smith & Williamson are Julie Mutton and Andrew Edmonds (assurance and business services), Paul Duckworth and Rebecca Combes (tax services to business).
Issues covered will include some of the tax implications of adopting the impending accounting standard FRS 102, widely regarded as the ‘big bang' change in financial reporting.
