Free Broadband Advice For Small Businesses
Published: 10th April 2014 16:23 |
Free advice is available to help small businesses use superfast broadband to save money and increase productivity.
Sometimes the easiest way to get to grips with new technology and understand how it can benefit your business is to see it in practice. From 10 April small businesses will be able to book a free one-to-one session with a Super Connected Portsmouth advisor at the Demonstrator Hub.
The Demonstrator Hub is a dedicated space for small businesses to get hands on experience of broadband technologies which can boost productivity and save money. During a free of charge session an advisor will explain how to use technologies such as video conferencing, internet telephony or cloud computing, as well as give practical advice making the most of your website or upgrading your broadband connection.
To celebrate the launch of the Demonstrator Hub, Super Connected Portsmouth will run a special two hour workshop on Wednesday 28 May 2014. The event, which is free for Portsmouth businesses, will:
- Explain which broadband technologies can save time and costs
- Give practical advice on how to start using cloud computing, internet telephony, or video conferencing in the workplace
- Allow business owners to try out the technologies for themselves
Cllr Hugh Mason, Deputy Leader of Portsmouth City Council and Cabinet Member for Resources, said "The world of computing and internet based technology is rapidly changing and it can be easy to get left behind. The Demonstrator Hub is designed to help businesses make better informed decisions on what technology is right for their business."
"We invite local businesses to come along book an appointment to find out how a small investment in new technology can pay dividends in the long term".
To find out more about booking a one-to-one session with an advisor or to secure your space at the workshop visit www.portsmouth.gov.uk and search for 'demonstrator hub' or call 023 9284 1023.
