A reservist from the Armed Forces swapped his business suit for uniform during a day at the office near Portsmouth.
Harnish Patel, a chartered surveyor with Hughes Ellard, the independent commercial property consultancy, spent the day at the independent firm's headquarters in Fareham to highlight the contribution of reservists in British military life.
A member of the Royal Naval Reserve, the able seaman was among a number taking part in Reserves Day, which was previously known as Uniform to Work Day.
The event was among a series in the run-up to Armed Forces Day held last Saturday (June 27th).
Able Seaman Harnish, a member of the Royal Naval Reserves, HMS King Alfred, based in Portsmouth, specialises in information operations for the Royal Navy.
At Hughes Ellard, he provides commercial strategic property advices to business across the Solent region.
He said: "Being a Royal Navy Reservist provides endless opportunities, experience you would not gain elsewhere, develop new skills and adventure.
"The high level of training not only ensures I am appropriately equipped to undertake specialist tasks in a multitude of environments but also brings key transferable skills to my profession."
Gary Jeffries, the managing director of 23-strong Hughes Ellard, which also has an office in Southampton, said: "Reservists such as Harnish play an important role in Britain's Armed Forces and his uniform was a visual reminder of that."
One of the highlights of Harnish's military career to date was to be mobilised for the London 2012 Paralympics - he was a flag bearer representing the Royal Naval and was involved in raising the Union Flag in the opening ceremony.
Harnish added: "'In both my Royal Navy Reservist and civilian employment I am required to act with a high level of professionalism at all times, be adaptable, work independently as well as a wider team to achieve a common goal.
"The Royal Navy Reservist instils this ethos, which bodes well with my firm and professional body the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors."
