Portsmouth skincare entrepreneur invited to Downing Street

When Portsmouth resident Samantha Worsey started a small business producing artisan bathing and body products in April 2015, she had no idea that she would be invited to meet the Chancellor of the Exchequer by the end of the year. But that is exactly what has happened.
Southsea Bathing Hut has been named one of the top 100 small businesses in Britain. Today, Samantha and other celebrated entrepreneurs are attending a reception at Downing Street, where they will mingle with George Osborne.
‘I'm really proud to have been invited to Downing Street,' Samantha said. ‘But I won't just be there to represent Southsea Bathing Hut. I hope to have the chance to to talk about Portsmouth, which has many fantastic locally owned and supported businesses. Look at Albert Road, to give just one example. In modern Britain it's rare to see so many great independent companies on one street. We can all be proud of that.'
Tomorrow is Small Business Saturday - the national celebration of shopping locally and supporting independent businesses. Back home after her visit to Downing Street, Southsea Bathing Hut will be trading at the Love Southsea Market on Palmerston Road, Southsea and the Etsy Made Local Xmas Market at Aspex Gallery, Gunwharf Quays.
