Carolyn Barber's passion is to show people how to look after their mental health just as we do our physical health.
She's developed a five point framework to help people work out individual plans to work towards good mental health, and founded The Good Mental Health Company as a social enterprise about 18 months ago. Carolyn has recently pioneered ‘fitness for the mind' classes in Portsmouth, and runs regular workshops combining practical exercises with the principles of mindfulness, wellbeing research and recovery models.
Carolyn also offers one-to-one sessions and individually tailored programmes through The Marple Cross Centre in Southsea. Carolyn is a qualified and registered social worker (now working independently) with over 30 years experience of working with vulnerable and socially excluded people.
In this blog series, Carolyn will be presenting us with her A to Z guide to mental wellbeing.
