Portsmouth Marriott Wins Three Tourism South East Awards

The Beautiful South Awards are now in their 22nd year and recognise businesses and destinations across the tourism industry for their exceptional levels of customer service and dedication to raising standards. The winners were announced by hosts Ken Robinson CBE, Chairman, Tourism South East (TSE) and guest radio presenter for Heart FM, Toby Anstis.

‘The current economic climate continues to present many challenges for the tourism industry - however, the standards achieved by our Award winners this year show their determination to provide their visitors and guests with memorable and outstanding experiences,' added Peter.
The Portsmouth Marriott was nominated for 3 award categories: Large Hotel of the Year, Sustainable Tourism and Outstanding Customer Service and won the following awards from the last 5 final nominations in each group:
- Highly Recommended for Large Hotel of the Year - "The hotel offers real strengths in its consistency of product, commitment to green issues, customer service and management".
- Silver Award for Sustainable Tourism - "The management have a real vision and certainly get the green agenda."
- Highly Recommended - Outstanding Customer Service - "Arthur Clelland , Guest Relations - he knows all of the guests who return to the hotel and looks after them and they all remember Arthur - nothing is too much trouble and he is a role model for concierges, receptionists and porters."
BJ Schreuder, General Manager, Craig Rawding, Chief Engineer and Arthur Clelland collected the award with members of the hotel team and are extremely proud of their team's achievements.
"This is great recognition for the whole hotel team and something we can be proud of," said BJ Schreuder. "We received final nominations for 3 categories this year which was a lot more that we expected. It shows the real commitment in the hotel to excel in everything we do on a daily basis to look after the customers or associates and our environment. It is fantastic to get this confirmed by outside organisations and admired by colleagues in the industry."
