Renewing a Bus Pass - Important Information

Portsmouth City Council is asking anyone with an older persons' bus pass to get in touch if their circumstances have changed, before their pass needs renewing.
Older persons' bus passes have a blue strip on the side. If a resident holds one of these and has changed their address, appearance or circumstances, then they should let the council know before 28 February. This will make sure their new pass has the right information and is sent out in time.
The council will automatically renew older persons' passes before they expire on 31 March 2019. But if someone's circumstances have changed since the pass was issued, then it needs to be informed.
Councillor Lynne Stagg, Cabinet Member for Traffic and Transport, said. "Many of our residents rely on public transport to get around. We don't want people to be without a bus pass so it is important they contact us before the 28 February deadline if their circumstances have changed. There's no need to do anything if your circumstances haven't changed."
The council is contacting disabled bus pass holders directly and advising if a new pass will be issued automatically, or if further evidence of their disability is required. A disabled person's bus pass is identifiable by an orange strip.
