South Coast Fireworks Extravaganza Set to Return to Gunwharf Quays in Partnership with Barnardo’s

Published: 5th November 2018 21:09

Gunwharf Quays has announced the return of its legendary fireworks extravaganza, in partnership with children’s charity Barnardo’s. The centre is asking those attending the free event to donate just 50p to help reach their fundraising target. Following the success of previous years, the event will return on Thursday 8th November and is set to attract thousands of locals to the waterfront shopping destination.

The Gunwharf Quays fireworks extravaganza will once again be hosted by Wave 105 and will feature live performances alongside a breath-taking waterfront fireworks display. In previous years the centre has welcomed appearances from acts including M.O., X Factor’s Matt Terry, JP Cooper and former Girls Aloud star, Nadine Coyle. This year’s performances are set to be announced later this year.

The Barnardo’s bears will be in attendance entertaining the crowds between performances and encouraging visitors to donate and help local children living in poverty.

Colin Wilding, General Manager at Gunwharf Quays, said: “The annual fireworks extravaganza is one of the biggest events in our calendar and we are delighted to be hosting this year’s event with our charity partner Barnardo’s.

“Although admission to our event is free, we are encouraging visitors to donate as much as they can to our charity, Barnardo’s - if everyone attending gave just 50p we could raise an incredible amount to help those most vulnerable in our community.”

Guests are advised to arrive early to avoid disappointment and consider using public transport or the Park and Ride service.
