Top prizes up for grabs at fundraising quiz for Southampton Mental Health Network

PEOPLE who attend Southampton Mental Health Network’s charity Quiz & Supper Evening this month will be in with a chance of winning prizes worth hundreds of pounds (July 23, 2024).
As part of the Southampton City Council-supported charity’s event at Board in the City CiC on July 23 there will be a raffle for a raft of prizes donated by businesses from the city.
Chair of Southampton Mental Health Network’s Board of Trustees, Sue Hayward, who is also a Mental Health Educator and Trainer, explains: “We’re on a mission to help Southampton become mental health friendly and we’re selling tickets for our Quiz & Supper Evening to raise proceeds to pay for a Friends, Family & Carers Event. We’re hoping this event, which is for people who currently support someone with poor mental health, can take place in the autumn so we can help them find out what resources are available for them in our city.
“During the Quiz & Supper Evening, there will also be a fundraising raffle with a selection of prizes up for grabs including a family ticket to Beaulieu Museum, Mettricks vouchers, The Body Shop and Starbuck’s gift bags, a bespoke occasion cake from Aoy’s Cake Club, Mayflower Theatre tickets for Aladdin in September and much more.”
Tickets for the charity Quiz & Supper Evening on Tuesday, July 23 cost £18 per person, this includes a chilli with nachos meal or a vegetarian alternative and the quiz entry fee, with all proceeds to the charity. There will also be a licensed bar. Raffle tickets will be sold separately on the night.

Sue adds: “We’re inviting quizzers to get together in teams of a maximum of six. If you do not have a team but would still like to take part, please let us know and we can introduce you to other attendees, so you can join together.
“The winning quiz team members will each take home a £5 CommuniBakes community bakery voucher and have the privilege of lifting our highly prized, and rather lovely, Southampton Mental Health Network trophy!”
Southampton Mental Health Network aims to create welcoming spaces for discussion, be understanding and supportive of those living with mental health challenges, boost wellbeing and improve knowledge and awareness in the city.
It became publicly active in 2019 and, with more than 100 member organisations involved in its development, became a charity in September 2022.
Working together, these organisations want to make Southampton a mental health friendly city, ensuring equality, diversity and inclusion for all.
