One Arrested Following Hitchin Drugs Warrant

Police officers from North Herts' Operation Scorpion team executed a drugs warrant at an address in Chaucer Way, Hitchin, on Tuesday 5 September.
Police entered the address at approximately 11am. During the search officers seized what is believed to be three bags of Class B drugs and drugs paraphernalia including electronic scales, deal bags and mobile phones.
No one was in the property at the time the warrant was executed, however after further investigations, a 53 year old man from Hitchin was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class B drugs later that day. A further quantity of drugs were found by officers during his arrest. He has been released pending further investigations.
North Herts Operation Scorpion Team Sergeant Jon Vine, said: "Although drug related crime in Hitchin is low, we are determined to drive it out and will deal robustly with anyone believed to be involved in such offences.
"Through our own investigations and information from the public, we can work together to keep Hitchin safe and I would therefore strongly encourage people to always report suspicious activity to us should they come across it.
