Suffolk music moguls bring back three day festival for Teenage Cancer Trust
A “unique and wonderful” three-day music and arts festival - which raises money for Teenage Cancer Trust – is returning to the Suffolk events calendar for 2016.
PettaFiesta, last held in 2014, is a multi-generation celebration of original live music, the arts, the spoken word, theatre, film, comedy and food. The line-up for the event, to be held in July, will include some of the best emerging UK bands and appearances from high profile figures from the literary, theatrical and art scenes.
Set amongst a beautiful moated 12-acre garden in the heart of Suffolk the event has been described as ‘the most chilled-out festival of the season’. PettaFiesta is hosted by Andy Corrigan and Jane Dyball whose illustrious careers have been entrenched in the music industry.
Andy was a founder member of the art-punk band the Mekons formed in the 70s. The Mekons were one of the first wave of UK punk bands alongside the likes of The Skids, Sham 69 and the Sex Pistols. Andy has always remained within the music industry working closely with iconic personalities such as the late Malcolm McLaren. Today, Andy runs Re-production which provides visa and passport services for the world’s leading musicians including Beyoncé, Elton John, Muse and Kylie Minogue. Jane is the current Chief Executive of the Mechanical Copyright Protection Society (MCPS) an organisation which represents, collects and distributes royalties for more than 20,000 composers, songwriters and music publishers. Jane previously enjoyed a 20 year career with publisher Warner/Chappell, working with writers such as Radiohead.
“We are delighted to announce the return of PettaFiesta and we are excited by what we have planned for this year,” said Andy. “Geared towards all ages the entertainment stretches from music across two stages to theatre shows, children’s activities, art workshops, motivational speakers, comedy, late night DJs and camp fire films. We look forward to announcing the detail of the 2016 line-up in the very near future.

“Jane and I do this as we are lucky enough to have an amazing garden which we want to share. PettaFiesta is very much a real festival but it has other unique and wonderful aspects such as a village fete style experience and audience participation. Those coming can just as easily find a quiet corner to relax with some delicious food and drink as they can involve themselves in the heart of the activities. Of course, it is all for a very good cause, our charity partner Teenage Cancer Trust.”
Around seven young people aged between 13 and 24 are diagnosed with cancer every day in the UK. Teenage Cancer Trust aims to create world-class cancer services for young people in the UK, providing life-changing care and support so young people don’t have to face cancer alone.
Jenny Townsend, local fundraising coordinator at Teenage Cancer Trust said “PettaFiesta is a unique music and arts event in the local community, and we are delighted that this year’s festival is supporting Teenage Cancer Trust. I am sure it will prove to be another memorable experience and I would like to say thank you to Jane and Andy and everyone supporting them to help bring this event together. For every young person we support, there is another we are unable to reach, so funds raised from the festival will make a real difference in helping us reach our goal of supporting every young person with cancer.”

The festival, which will run from July 8 to July 10, is held in the village of Pettaugh, between Stowmarket and Ipswich. The event is expected attract up to 500 people a day. Tickets for the event are now available. Go to www.pettafiesta.com
