Don't Be Late for School... in 2010

Time is running out for Hertfordshire parents and carers to apply for secondary school places for their children in September next year.
The process for children to move on to secondary school is already well under way and the deadline for completed applications is Friday 23rd October.
Most parents find that applying online is quick, easy and secure. Last year 88 per cent of parents and carers logged on to www.hertsdirect.org/admissions to complete their application forms.
Richard Thake, Executive Member for Education and Skills, said: "Moving on to secondary school is a very important step in a child's life and it is vital that parents and carers get the application forms in on time, either online or by returning the completed paper application to their local Admissions and Transport team, but parents can no longer return their application forms to their child's current primary school."
Notification letters will be posted out first class on 1st March and parents who applied online will be able to view their school offer online from early morning on 2nd March - they will all then have until 16th March to accept the school place. The last date for appeals will be 22nd March and appeals will be heard from May to July.
