A Bit of Banter on the Dancefloor!

Unicorn Ceilidhs are proud to welcome back the wonderful BANTER on Friday 10th November at St Mary’s Church Hall, Baldock.
Banter are rooted in English traditional folk music but incorporate influences of pop, jazz, soul and big band sounds. With Simon Care on melodeons, Tim Walker percussion and trumpet and Nina Zella on keyboards, Banter has been described as “the world’s smallest big band”, as good to listen to as to dance to. The band has a new CD, released in October this year, and will be joined by Fee Lock, one of the busiest callers on the English ceilidh scene, who will help everyone to learn the dances to go with the infectious music supplied by the band.
Ickwell Green Morris will provide the interval entertainment with a display of Cotswold-style Morris dancing. Ickwell Green is one of the newest Morris sides in the area, but despite their newness they dance with impressive style and verve.
All the dances are walked through so you know what to do - the emphasis is very much on enjoying yourself, rather than getting everything step perfect.
There's a break at about 9.15 to catch your breath and chat to old and new friends, and a raffle - win a bottle of wine, chocolates, or free entry next time for 20p!
Unicorn Ceilidhs are held at St Mary’s Church Hall, Church Street, Baldock SG7 5AE from 8:00 – 11:00, there’s a Real Ale, Cider, wine and soft drinks bar and you can park in the High Street or Twitchell Car Park (behind the Community Centre) and walk to the hall in the church grounds.
