A Feast of Jam and Crumpet!

The Unicorn Ceilidh on Friday December 14th at St Mary’s Church Hall, Baldock features The Jam and Crumpet Band with caller Mary Panton.
In The Jam and Crumpet Band you’ll find the very essence of English Dance music. Four great Warwickshire musicians come together to provide super foot-tapping dance music designed to tempt everyone onto the floor. Terrific tunes from a variety of sources – folk, jazz, rock, standards – delivered with sparkle and verve on melodeon, harmonica, keyboard, sax and drums.
Mary Panton has graced the stage at Unicorn Ceilidhs many times in the past. Her outgoing and friendly personality puts everyone - particularly first time dancers - immediately at their ease. A very experienced caller, she always delivers a great programme of interesting dances.
Interval entertainment will be from The Brafront Guizers, who will perform their traditional Mummers Play with St George, the Turkish Knight, Old Mother, the Doctor (no, not that one!) and a host of other improbable characters!
The evening starts at 8:00 p.m. (doors open at 7:30), and finishes about 11.00 p.m. Adults - £10, Seniors over 65 - £9, Children under 18 - £6, Students / unwaged - £7. First 6 students before 8 p.m. - FREE! Excellent value for a live band and caller!
All the dances are walked through beforehand, and the emphasis is very much on enjoying yourself, rather than getting everything step perfect. See www.unicornceilidhs.org.uk for full details and on-line booking.
