Unicorn Ceilidhs kick off a new season of high-energy dances on Friday 13thSeptember at St Mary’s Church Hall in Baldock, with the welcome return of the Cock and Bull Band and caller Barry Goodman.
The Cock and Bull Band is one of the country's leading ceilidh bands, delighting audiences at festivals, ceilidhs and parties with their eclectic mix of instrumentation and styles. The rhythmic powerhouse of Paul Martin on mandocello and Pete Lockwood on keyboards and percussion is augmented by Vanda Sainsbury on sax, clarinet and recorders, and Lynn Swain on flute and whistle.
Barry Goodman has worked with most of the country’s top bands at festivals and ceilidh series from Devon to Yorkshire and Suffolk to Gloucestershire. His wide repertoire of dances and easy, relaxed style of calling puts dancers at their ease and guarantees a great night of dancing and fun.
The evening starts at 8:00 p.m. (doors open at 7:30), and finishes about 11.00 p.m. Adults - £10, Seniors over 65 - £9, Children under 18 - £6, Students / unwaged - £7. First 6 students before 8 p.m. - FREE! Excellent value for a live band and caller!
All the dances are walked through beforehand, and the emphasis is very much on enjoying yourself, rather than getting everything step perfect. See www.unicornceilidhs.org.ukfor full details.
