Registraion is now open for Rowans 10th Starlit Walk, which is taking place at 6.30pm on Wednesday 30th October at Portsmouth Historic Dockyard.
This enchanting event is designed to provide children up to the age of 16 with the opportunity to take part in thier own sponsored evening walk in aid of Rowans Hospice. They will be able to remember a loved one by placing a decorated star on our Starlit memory board and they will have the chance to light a candle when they visit St Ann's Church on the route.
Fundraising and Events Officer, Cathy Pittick said: "The Starlit Walt is a magical 1.5 or 3 mile night-time walk around Portsmouth's Historice Dockyard with up to 750 children exploring, making friends and having fun. Before the walk starts the children will be able to take part in a Zumba warm up and the Big Noise Community Samba Band will be entertaining them at the start line. There will be additional entertainment during the walk and all children will recieve a commemorative Starlit medal at the end."
Cathy added: "As our 10th Starlit Walk falls on the 25th Anniversay of the Hospice we thought it would be appropriate for this year's theme to be Silver and Sparkly." We are hoping fo a very glittery evening! Registration is restricted to 750 children, se we would recommend registering as soon as possible to avoid disappointment."
Children can now register online at www.rowanshospice.co.uk/starlit for just £5 per child, with a suggested fundraising target of £25.
