3/.Matters Arising
a/.It was with great regret that we noted that George Parker passed away on 8th Dec. A condolence card was sent to his family on behalf of the Association and several Committee members attended the funeral. The Committee reflected that George had been a stalwart member of this Committee since it was formed 35 years ago, and he will be sadly missed. It is proposed in due course to install a plaque in his name in the Park.
b/.Vice Chair person. Also Secretary G Hartley advised that with immediate effect Anne Moss has resigned as chair person because of ill health. It was noted that she has served as an excellent Chair person for many years and the Secretary was instructed to write a letter of thanks. It is essential that we find a replacement but there were no offers on the night. The Secretary pleaded for members to find a chair person and meantime , he offered to act as chair until the AGM in April .
c/.Junior Youth Club no progress
d/.Broomfield Parking Problems Apparently the original letter from Bury MBC requesting residents to be more considerate when parking , was only sent to Broomfield Rd.residents. Cllr Briggs has obtained a subsequent letter from Highways to a resident advising that after further review, it was not practical to restrict parking to residents as this would not solve the problem . Ian Lord (Highways) advised recently that any scheme must come from residents, and could include creating extra parking on green areas but this must be funded by residents
4 /. Recreation Ground Phase 3. "Village Green Concept". The Secretary had exploratory discussions with B3SDA Groundwork on possible funding sources, and they advised considering Heritage Lottery grants. The Committee agreed that the present economic climate made this very difficult.
5/. Correspondence - G Schooner (Environmental Services)wrote agreeing to install footpath signage at the entrance to the Park and the Delph asking dog owners to clean up dog mess
6./Planning and Development Applications
a/.87 Church St - appeal to National Inspectorate Following the dismissal of the appeal, the owner is apparently now negotiating with Bury Planning Dept on a way forward

8/. Community Carol Service Mon 17th Dec in the Community Hall This was again well supported and very enjoyable. Jane Lees was thanked for providing the mince pies. Donations received totalled £72.38 of which £38.36 funded the Communal Xmas Tree.
