People living in Lancashire and Cumbria can now benefit from the launch of the new NHS 111 service, a service that can provide advice relating to health-related questions and signpost callers to the most appropriate service.
NHS 111 is a new, easy to remember, and free to use telephone service that gives advice on which service that gives advice on which service to use when people have a minor injury or illness that needs medical attention but is not an emergency.
The NHS 111 telephone service will be available 24 hours a day, seven days a week to give people living in East Lancashire expert advice on health and the different services available in the area.
NHS 111 is not intended to replace the 999 service, which should still be used in the event of an emergency.
