Neston and Parkgate detachment is based at Parksfield, Station Road, Parkgate.
Sponsored by the United Kingdom's Ministry of Defence and the British Army, we welcome girls and boys aged 12 years (6 months) - 18 years, the purpose - built detachment in Neston provides a base for a wide variety of exciting activites and skills training.
The aims of the ACF are to -
- Provide progressive cadet training, often of a challenging and exciting nature, to foster confidence, self reliance, initiatve, loyalty and a sense of service to other people;
- Encourage the development of personal powers of practical leadership and the ability to work succesfully as a member of a team;
- Stimulate an interest in the Army, its achievements, skills and values;
- Advise and prepare those considering a career in the services or with the Reserve Forces;
- And there's one more important thing - it's a lot of fun!
- Fieldcraft (Living in the field on camps, completing night patrols and doing mock ambushes)
- Shooting (Air rifle Training at Neston, and L98A2 Cadet GP rifle on camps)
- Adventurous Training (Kayaking, Mountain Biking, Rock Climbing, Archery and more)
- Duke of Edinburgh (opportunities to succeed at Bronze, Silver and Gold levels)
- Sports (athletics, cross country, swimming, football, rugby, hockey, tug - of - war and more)
- Training & Education (BTECs, First Aid and Leadership Training)
- Parade & Drill (promoting the benefits of discipline, organisation and teamwork)
