New Bike Hire Initiative Hits the Road in Neston

Tracs, the pop-up cycle hire organisation run by Tony Buckman, is now open on Saturdays and Sundays in Neston.
Last weekend Cllr Louise Gittins (Cheshire West and Chester Council ward member for Little Neston and Burton) and the Mayor of Neston, Cllr Mike Shipman, paid a visit to see what Tracs is offering.
Tony, a Little Neston resident, will be at Neston Community Youth Centre for the rest of the Summer. He offers bike hire suitable for the Wirral Way and the other local shared routes; cycle servicing; some retail bits and bobs to keep people on the road and, if required, some new-bike sales.
Tracs (U.K.) Ltd is a Bike Hire/Coaching business based at Linmere Visitor Centre, Delamere Forest, Cheshire where they have built a thriving business and which they now intend to bring to Neston. Tracs will stock a range of Mountain Bikes - from performance to utility brands - such as Kona, Marin, Kinesis, Diamondback and Raleigh and they have Cytech qualified bike mechanics for servicing and repairs.
Tony himself is a British Cycle Coach and runs the Mountain Bike Instructors Award Scheme, coaches mountain bike skills and can lead groups out/coaching/guided rides.
Tony said: 'I'm really excited about the potential of the town to support a bike shop, but thought that I'd start the same way as we did at Delamere, with bike hire, and attract servicing and retail jobs as we build our reputation.
"We've already had two small servicing jobs we were able to turn round in the day. I'm also keen to support anyone who wants to do guided rides from the pop-up at the weekend."
Tony is being supported in his venture by NCYC. He said: "Centre Manager Gareth Prytherch and his team have been really supportive and we hope to work together on training people using the centre to do their own basic maintenance and/or re-condition bikes to give back to the community."
