Bromborough Golf Day Raises Money for Macmillan

24 members of Bromborough Golf Club raised nearly £10,000 recently by participating in Macmillan Cancer Support's Longest Day Golf Challenge.
The team with the best aggregate score: L to R: John Duffy, Graham Money (Capt), Nigel Skilling and Peter Benson
Most of the funds were raised through sponsorship of their golfing marathon which involved completing 4 rounds of golf on Sunday 26th June starting at 5am and finishing at 8.15pm.
The idea to promote the event came from 2016 Captain Joe Graham who said: "I am delighted that another 5 teams led by Loz Creed, Steve O'Loughlin, Aaron Cove, Ray Bobby and Graham Money decided to join me and put considerable effort into raising so much money for such a worthy cause.
"We all finished the task, well ahead of schedule, tired but elated and ready to take a break from playing golf for a few days. Scoring was remarkably good given that the overhead conditions deteriorated during the day and was a remarkable testament to the stamina and quality of golf played by the entrants.
"I am also very grateful to all those members who provided back-up to the players keeping us well fuelled so we could complete the golf in the time required."
