NGS Open Day with Ionian Singers Sunday

Come and wander around the beautiful gardens of Shaw's Corner, home to the playwright George Bernard Shaw, and his famous Writing Hut, open for the National Garden Scheme with the lovely sound of the Ionian Singers accompanying your ambles.

Have you ever wondered what Nordic Walking is? Come and find out at Oxburgh Hall. We are offering taster sessions with a fully qualified instructor. Each session lasts about an hour, covering the basic technique and giving an insight into how the poles can propel you along and work the whole body. All equipment will be provided; please wear comfortable shoes. You may wish to bring something to drink while you are walking but tea/coffee and biscuits will be provided at the end.

'All is Animation - Walk-Talking the Landscape'

Join Hayden Lorimer (University of Glasgow) and Angus Farquhar (NVA arts organisation) on a guided walk around Sheringham Park, exploring its different landscapes and habitats. On what will be their first visit to the Park, they will use their expertise to offer a fresh perspective on what they see as the key locations and challenges, focusing their attention on how matters of environmental change are being addressed. Participants will be invited to join in conversations about the future of Sheringham Park along the way.
This event is part of a collaborative project called Landscaped Estates of the 1800s: Designs on the Future which involves a temporary ‘twinning' of Sheringham Park with the Kilmahew Estate in Cardross, Scotland.

All paintings are for sale and the artists have generously agreed to give Melford Hall 20% of the sale of their paintings; this donation helps to maintain the fabric and upkeep of Melford Hall.

Join us for a guided four-mile walk retracing the route of the former Great Eastern Railway Line linking the medieval wool towns of Lavenham and Long Melford. Meet at Lavenham

‘A wealth of Old Beams' Exhibition

Lavenham is famed for its medieval timber-framed buildings, and you might think that little has changed here in the last century or so. But photographs from the Guildhall Museum's archive show them in a sad state of dereliction in the late19th and early 20th centuries, and the 300 or so listed buildings that remain were lucky to survive.

Backstage Past - Access All Eras, is an engaging and vibrant experience that celebrates 200 years of the Theatre's story through guided tours, exhibitions and installations. take a journey back in time through the Theatre's history from its Regency beginnings to the present day. It is an opportunity to view the Theatre in a whole new light!
