If you would like to have some fun while maintaining or improving your mental and physical well being then American Square Dancing is for you and White Rose Squares Harrogate is an excellent place to learn your dancing. The first thing that you will enjoy is the easy listening music with live vocals. The music encourages a carefree attitude, fills the dancers with positive energy, is a great benefit to the spirit and helps maintain a healthy mind and body.
Square Dancing was brought to England by American armed forces and locally it started at Menwith Hill over 30 years ago. It continues to flourish and currently there are 11 clubs in Yorkshire. White Rose Square Dance Club has danced at Pannal Village Hall on Sunday evenings for the last thirteen years! To brighten up your winter, why not try something different? Square dancing is fun, sociable and good healthy exercise. In contrast to traditional ballroom dancing, two left feet are not a problem. The music is everything from country and western and all time standards, to modern pop.
A Beginners Group is due to start on Sunday January 18th 7.30pm to 9.30pm at Pannal Village Hall.
Both couples and singles can be assured of a warm welcome. Why not give it a go? You have nothing to lose since the first four weeks are free, and then it is only £3.50 a week! Interested?
