To open its new season, the Linton Antique Society welcomes art historian Brian Souter to talk about Hogarth and 'The Roast Beef of Old England'.

 

One of Britain's greatest painters, William Hogarth was a sharp social satirist, a lobbyist for the rights of artists and founder of a new British School of art. Altogether a fascinating figure and every bit as worthy of a film as J MW Turner!
