Masterchef finalist Giovanna Ryan will star on the chef demonstration stage of this year’s Northampton Winter Food Festival.

Giovanna made it through to final three of the hit cookery show earlier in the year. She wowed the judges with her dishes, many inspired by her Italian grandmother.

She said: “Food is such a huge part of Italian culture and Italian family life. I spent hours and hours in the kitchen with my grandmother when I was a child.”

Since appearing on amateur Masterchef, the music and singing teacher has launched a career in cookery.  She is one third of Three Girls Cook along with fellow 2017 Masterchef finalists, Lorna Robertson and Alison O’Reilly, offering swish supper clubs and private dining.

Giovanna, who grew up in Cambridgeshire and now lives in London, also runs Little Brixton Kitchen and demos with her fiancé Marcus, who is a butcher.

Giovanna will demonstrate two different recipes each day, with at least one paying homage to her Italian heritage.

She will be joined on the chef demo stage by a host of talented cooks, including Carmela Sereno Hayes, Northampton’s queen of Italian cuisine.

Giovanna is just one of the fresh additions to this year’s festival, which takes place at The County Cricket Ground in Abington Avenue on 11 and 12 November 2017.

Also new are the free gin tasting sessions, cocktail masterclasses and Indian cookery school run by Northampton’s Anita Chipalkatty.

There will be over 80 food, drink and foodie gift stalls at the Northampton Winter Food Festival with a street food market around the boundary edge.

There is free parking on Abington Park. Adult tickets are £6 in advance of £8 on the day. Children over ten years are £3.
