Northamptonshire Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner Stephen Mold is asking people who live and work in Northamptonshire for their views on the priorities for policing and the fire service in the county.

The Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner is updating the Police and Crime Plan and launching a new Fire and Rescue Plan, his first since taking responsibility for Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue Service in January 2019.

In both plans, Stephen Mold has outlined his priorities for actions that will help create a safer county, along with the activities that will help to achieve them. Now people are invited to have their say on the plans and whether they agree with the priorities for action.

In the Police and Crime Plan, Stephen Mold outlines priorities for a safer Northamptonshire and how he will work with the Chief Constable and other partners to achieve them.

The Plan has four broad priorities, each with a number of key aims and activities. These are:

  • Prevention and early intervention
  • Robust enforcement
  • Victims at the heart of justice and reducing reoffending
  • Transformation

The Fire and Rescue Plan aims to set out the standards that the public can expect from the Fire and Rescue Service in the county.  The Plan includes closer joint working with Northamptonshire Police and the sharing of buildings and enabling services.

This consultation gives people the opportunity to give their views on the Fire & Rescue Service’s Integrated Risk Management Plan, which identifies the risks of fires and incidents in the county and outlines how the service would respond to them.

Police, Fire & Crime Commissioner Stephen Mold urged people to fill in the survey:  “I really want people to tell me what they think of these plans and priorities. My role is to be the voice of the public in policing and crime and the fire and rescue service and I am committed to ensuring that local people are able to make their opinions count,” he said.

The consultation runs from four weeks from Monday 4 February.  You can fill in the consultation by visiting: http://www.northantsp.cc/policeandfireplans
