South Northamptonshire MP and Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy has welcomed the Government’s Brexit Business Readiness Event at the Northampton Marriott Hotel on Monday 16th September 2019.
Experts from across government will be on hand to answer questions from local businesses about preparations and readiness for Brexit, including on issues ranging from the importing and exporting of goods and services, employing EU citizens and data protection.
The session will be led by Nick Chism, the Chief Business Adviser in Andrea’s BEIS department, who will deliver the keynote address, alongside in-depth breakout sessions covering sector specific advice, staffed by experts from departments including BEIS, the Home Office, HMRC, the Department for International Trade and the Department for Culture, Media and Sport.
Sessions will run from 9-11.30am and those looking to attend will need to register in advance on the website.
Andrea said:
“We are stepping up a gear and increasing the pace of our preparations as we get ready to leave the EU on 31st October 2019.
“While there are challenges, business leaders I have met since I became Business Secretary are optimistic and clear that none are insurmountable.
“Our preparations for Brexit are giving the business community the confidence to wave the flag for Britain and to seize the myriad opportunities that lie ahead.
“This is a fantastic opportunity for any business in Northants to come and hear directly from the Government on what they should be doing in advance of our departure from the EU next month.”
