After a gap of six years, we are pleased to announce the resumption of the Weston 5 mile race, which will take place at 10am on Monday 6th May 2019
This event is run over a multi-terrain, undulating course comprising public road and private track in the South Northamptonshire countryside. While the distance of the route is measured, the off-road element of the course means that it is not verified. The start point is just beyond the west side of the village of Weston, and ends uphill, at the site of the Weston May Day Fair where runners and their families can enjoy a variety of entertainments, refreshments and trade stalls.
At its height, the Weston 5 attracted over 200 runners and was rated in the top 100 of running events in the UK. It was unfortunately discontinued after the retirement of the original organisers, and we hope that restoring the race on May Day 2019, will enable us to build its reputation as an essential event for runners of all levels of ability.
Full details of the race and conditions can be found on the Run Britain website. While entries will be accepted on the day, advance entry will ensure that we can supply the participant with a time-chipped number sheet.
If you have any queries that are not answered on the Run Britain website, please email the organiser at greatweston5@live.co.uk and we will try to answer your questions.
