On Sunday 12 May 2019 experienced local forager Richard Mawby is running a half day Spring foraging workshop at Bay Tree Cottage in Farthingstone, just outside Towcester, where attendees can discover the abundance of edible spring plants, herbs and food that can form a healthy addition to their diet.
The course runs from 10am-2pm and will start with an introduction to foraging and some background on Richard's fascinating lifestyle, which incorporates not only wild food but also self-sufficiency and raw natural eating. Attendees will then don their wellies for a walk where they will learn how to confidently identify several edible plants and will be introduced to many more. After the foraging is complete, the group will head back to Bay Tree Cottage where Richard will show them how their foraging finds can be incorporated into their meals, adding a pure and natural flavour.
