The Village of Paulerspury is marking the one hundred years anniversary of the end of World War 1 over the weekend of 9th to 11th November 2018.
The Village of Paulerspury is marking the one hundred years anniversary of the end of World War 1 over the weekend of 9th to 11th November 2018.
On the evening of the Friday there will be a showing of the recent film; Journey’s End, which is an adaptation of R C Sherriff’s play of the same name. The film focuses on a group of men in the trenches awaiting the big German Offensive in the Spring of 1918. Village Hall, 8.00 pm. £5 entry at the door
On Saturday 10th November 2018 a commemorative Dinner and Roll Call will be held at Plum Park Hotel. Three course meal with coffee and cash bar. The names of the 27 village men killed in the war will be read out with brief biographical details if each person.

Sunday morning sees the Armistice Service in St. James Church at 9.45 followed by the two minutes silence at the War Memorial at 11 o’clock.
In the evening the Paulerspury Players will be putting on an hour’s show with poetry readings, songs and a sketch all appropriate to the First World War. This will be at 7.30 pm in the U R C Chapel on the High Street. No charge for entry but a collection will be taken
